Claudy Siar
Special Advisor to the President of the Republic of Benin for Culture, Media, and International Visibility
Biography
Born in Paris to Guadeloupean parents, Claudy Siar is a singular figure in the media landscape, combining the roles of entrepreneur, journalist, broadcaster, and special advisor to the president. Founder and Managing Director of Tropiques FM radio since 2007, and producer and host of Couleurs Tropicales on RFI from 1995 to 2026, he built his career on a single conviction: to give Africa and its diaspora a platform for their music, cultures, identities, and voices.
By presidential decree on June 3, 2026, the President of the Republic of Benin, Romuald Wadagni, appointed him Special Advisor to the President of the Republic for Culture, Media, and Benin’s International Visibility. In this capacity, he established Benin Influence, the structure attached to the Presidency responsible for amplifying the country’s global presence and influence.
“Africa does not need others to speak about her. She simply needs to speak for herself, and today she is taking the microphone. This is the entire purpose behind everything I built on air, and everything I am building today in Benin.”
